Biography | Kat Willis

Evolutions in Therapy is very pleased to announce the addition of Kat Leigh Willis, Ph.D. to our practice.  

Dr. Kat’s specialty is working with families who need help for a member with an addiction problem.  She has worked in intervention services for the past 40 years, and has helped many families in pain to heal.  Dr. Kat has presented in national conferences, training and teaching on issues such as trauma, addiction, and family reconciliation.  She has taught at the University of California at Davis, and has served as a guest lecturer at several colleges and universities.

Her family reconciliation program has taken her across the country to New York and internationally to Panama.  Dr. Willis has written programs for several treatment programs from the San Francisco Bay area to Malibu in Southern California.  

Dr. Kat created her company, FEAST (Family Education and Skills Training), which she ran for several years.  This company has been absorbed into Evolutions in Therapy.

Walking through the Redwoods one morning, I came across this remarkable tree. Even though the tree was cut down in its prime, the roots sprouted new growth, reaching for the light, creating a new tree supported by the severed trunk. It grew strong and straight with the new roots spreading to nourish this growth. To me it symbolizes the resilience found in families and individuals.
